Getting ready for the 2026 Season!
We just wanted to let you know that preparations for the new season are going really well. For example, on Monday, 9 March 2026, a few of the regular team of volunteers were at the green helping to get things ready - see photo below. Special thanks go to:
- Sue Hanlon for sorting out the second-hand bowls clothes ready for donating or recyling;
- Peter and Alan for their work on the green including scarifying the playing surface. The green is looking really good thanks to the hard work the team has been putting in; and
- Trevor Rand and Lou for putting together four of the new benches, which will add some welcome additional comfort for players around the green alongside a new set of parasols.
Elsewhere, Nicky has been busy working on the fixture list for the coming season and this is now available on the website.
Chris has sent a message to all members with renewal forms and these can be returned by email or handed in at the pre-season meeting which will be held at the Club House on Sunday, 29 March 2026 at 10:30 (don't forget that the clocks will have "sprung" forward in the early hours of that Sunday!).
Tom is preparing the arrangements for this year's internal club competitions and details of how to enter will be availabe at the meeting on 29 March.
These are just a few highlights and the green-keeping team and others will continue to work tirelessly to ensure everything is ready for the Opening Day of the 2026 season which year is on Saturday, 18 April 2026, when we hope to see you all.
